There is something special about a drop-bar single-speed bike. They feel a little bit traditional, a little bit nifty and whole lot of fun. Schindelhauer have taken their Siegfried urban bike and added a sprinkling of fun into the mix.

Once you have purchased your new bike from us, it will be put into the build queue for one of our workshops. Your bike will be built and will undergo a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) by one of our expert mechanics. A PDI is a checklist that the mechanic follows to confirm that all parts of your new bike are up to our high standards.

Next, your bike will be prepared for shipping. Padding is used on all the necessary areas and your bike is loaded into a sturdy cardboard bike box. All the necessary paperwork and accessories will be packed inside too. Most of our cardboard and packaging are recycled from incoming deliveries. Bikes are usually delivered by DPD within the UK.

In order to package your bike safely, you will need to do a small amount of assembly when it arrives. It can vary from bike to bike, but usually you’ll need to: fit the front wheel, install the handlebars and fit the pedals. Please note that not all bikes come with pedals - please check the specification on each bike, we’ll include it on there.

Product Description

Aluminium is the choice of material for the frame, which Schindelhauer have worked into a pleasant shape, with minimal logos and branding. The seat post is neatly integrated into the frame as well as the rear brake cable which hides away inside the top tube.

Down at the drivetrain, the Schindelhauer Siegfried Road uses a Gates Carbon Belt Drive attached to a flip flop hub, so you can run it both as a fixed gear and as a free wheel. The real beauty of the Belt Drive is how easy it is to use and maintain. Belts do not require lubrication to work so they are clean in use (no more gunked up trouser hems), which also means less time cleaning.

The delicate and tasteful finishing touches on the Siegfried include the Brooks leather bar tape and saddle and the Continental Grand Prix classic tyres. That brown contrasting with the aluminium is sumptuous.

The Schindelhauer Siegfried Road fits in nicely alongside the Viktor and Siegfried as a versatile urban bike for a variety of uses. The racier position on the Road version of the Siegfried is well suited to those who enjoy a bit of speed in getting where they’re going.

  • Single speed gearing on a flip-flop fixed/free wheel hub
  • Drop handlebars with matching brake levers
  • Has a low-maintenance Gates Carbon Belt Drive
  • Brooks leather saddle and handlebar grips
  • Aluminium frame and fork
  • Pair of calliper rim brakes
