Hill & Ellis Bunbury Pannier
Oscar Wilde made up the term bunburying so that character Algy could get out of boring dinners with Aunt Augusta. Designed to be the ultimate in 'bunburying' chic, this bike bag allows you to look like you’re up to business even when you’re not (like when you’re in the pub). In fact why not just leave the office and pretend you’re cycling to a meeting just so you can get on your bike – Algy got away with bunburying with Aunt Augusta and she’s scarier than any boss…
Made from the finest milled dark brown leather, this bike bag is lined with a specially printed striped cotton twill, and all metal detailing has an antique bronze finish. It has an outside pocket for fast access vitals (cigar, keys) and a shoulder strap as well as the top handle.
Internal features include bike key hook, inside zip pocket and a protective laptop sleeve (15 inch). This bike bag also has our standard clever bike-y features like a metal leather protector to stop the leather bag chaffing on the pannier rack and reversible reflective strips for increased visibility at night.
This bike bag is also designed to fit in the Boris Bike front basket – perfect for bunburying around in London! (An extra Boris bike bungee strap will be available soon.)
Please note the pannier hooks are designed for a standard pannier rack only (6-10mm in diameter), and they do not fit onto a Brompton.
What if it rains?
The leather is very durable but to make sure the rain doesn’t mark it, the bike bag comes with its own Tour de Rain yellow jersey, which is fully waterproof, easy to attach, and has reflective strips for increased visibility at night. The Tour de France yellow is a limited edition.
(For ease of attaching we recommend putting the leather bag on your bike first and then attaching the waterproof cover.)
