Book Now

Once you have purchased your new bike from us, it will be put into the build queue for one of our workshops. Your bike will be built and will undergo a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) by one of our expert mechanics. A PDI is a checklist that the mechanic follows to confirm that all parts of your new bike are up to our high standards.

Next, your bike will be prepared for shipping. Padding is used on all the necessary areas and your bike is loaded into a sturdy cardboard bike box. All the necessary paperwork and accessories will be packed inside too. Most of our cardboard and packaging are recycled from incoming deliveries. Bikes are usually delivered by DPD within the UK.

In order to package your bike safely, you will need to do a small amount of assembly when it arrives. It can vary from bike to bike, but usually you’ll need to: fit the front wheel, install the handlebars and fit the pedals. Please note that not all bikes come with pedals - please check the specification on each bike, we’ll include it on there.

Product Description

Please note: All colour variants of this product are the 2023 variant of the Brompton C Line Explore with black components. The exact specification may differ from the product pictured.

C Line, or 'classic' line, is the original, all-steel folding bike. Handmade in Brompton's London factory since 1975, this bie is built to withstand the rigours of daily riding life. Although for most that'll be in cities, owners a-stride a Brompton have ridden to the South Pole or even circumnavigated the globe. In our book, a Brompton bicycle can ride pretty much anywhere.

This bike is the classic hand-brazed steel frame and forks with the following setup. Explore is a 6-speed gearing bike with either a 'Low' handlebar - offering a sporty, angled riding position, 'Mid' handlebar - something for a neutral riding position or a 'High' handlebar for more upright cycling. Mudguards are here, as is a front carrier block for adding a Brompton bag. Basic reflectors are included. In time, you can upgrade to battery or dynamo lighting or use your bicycle lights from a previous bike.

The fold of a Brompton is such a clever design. It keeps all the messy drivetrain parts away from you and objects around you. Its folded footprint is 64x56x27cm.

A Brompton C Line Explore weighs 12.2kg. If you like a lighter bike, choose the Brompton P Line, which shaves 2kg off the overall weight.
