I have owned a basic Brompton bicycle for many years now .Sadly I very rarely ride it because I find pumping up the tyres difficult .and also if I am unfortunate enough to get a puncture .mending it is a real pain too .If I could part exchange it for a model that I could use as my Audax machine I would seriously consider doing that I like most serious cyclist I have a number of different machines but I can not justify buying another one .

Brompton bikes are quite expensive and also the G line is heavy to carry around. The bikes might be solid but they seemed overpriced and the C-line range and P line range seems to be very bumpy and not comfortable especially with thee sport saddle. The saddle should have been wider. Brompton could have been incorporated some hydraulic features to make the rider’s ride more smooth. I bought the G line after exchanging the P line however was confused of whether to get the electric or normal ones. Overall they are quite expensive .No the best of the best but still a good bike in comparison to other brands. The downside which let Brompton down, is the price of the bikes, unavailability of colours. One cannot custom made bikes and the fact that the steel version are heavy then Brompton should think of alternatives but also keep the price down as they need to promote health through cycling and by keeping a competitive price, then everyone would be able to enjoy and have a healthy lifestyle
